AG Cozette Vergari
Cozette is a native of Los Angeles, raised in Westchester. She
graduated from Westchester High School and received her B.A. and High
School Teaching Credential from the University of Southern
California. After several years of teaching and performing
professionally in theater arts, Cozette returned to graduate school
and obtained her law degree from the University of West Los Angeles
School of Law and Paralegal Studies. She is a partner at Vergari &
Fu, LLP and currently practices in the areas of family law, probate
and estate planning.
Cozette has been a member of the Rotary Club of Westchester since 1995
and has served in various capacities, including Director of Youth
Services, Director of International Services, Secretary, Vice
President and President (2001-2002). Additionally, she serves as the
Vice-Chair of the Westchester Rotary Foundation. Cozette is a Paul
Harris Fellow, a Benefactor to the RI Foundation, and a member of the
RI Bequest Society.
Cozette is active in the surrounding community as well as in the legal
community. Every second Thursday of each month, she volunteers legal
assistance in the Barristers Domestic Violence Project through the Los
Angeles County Bar Association. She sits on the Airport Marina
Counseling Service Board of Directors as well as the Board of Trustees
for the University of West Los Angeles School of Law and Paralegal
Studies as their Vice-Chair. Cozette is also a member of the
Westchester LAX Marina del Rey Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles
Collaborative Family Law Association.
Cozette resides happily in Westchester with her partner Richard Moon,
also a very active Rotarian at the club and district levels. She has
two wonderful sons, Chase who works as an attorney in the law firm of
Proskauer Rose in New York City, and Ryan, who works for
PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Los Angeles working his way toward becoming
a CPA.
