Director Scot Clifford
International Service

Scot Clifford joined the Wilshire Rotary Club of Los Angeles in 1997. He has served as Director of Youth Service, Director of International Service and Program Chair. Scot became President of the Wilshire Rotary Club in 2001, founding the Occidental College Rotaract Club, the John Burroughs Middle School Youthact Club, achieving 100% Paul Harris Fellow membership within the Club and inducting 17 new members. Scot is now the Bulletin Editor for his Club.

In 1997, Scot joined the District Group Study Exchange Committee on which he continues to serve. He has also been a member of the Literacy Committee. He was the chair of the Group Study Exchange in 2002-2003. He also chaired the World Peace Scholarship and the Open World Programs hosting two visiting teams from the Russian Federation. Scot graduated from the District's MODEL program in 2003.

Born in ,L<?s Angeles, he graduated from Hollywood High School as valedictorian of his class. Scot received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor degree from the Southwestern University School of Law. He has practiced law since 1974 and is now a partner in the Pasadena firm, Laquer, Urban, Clifford and Hodge.

He married Wendy in 1975 and lives in the Hancock Park neighborhood where he grew up. They have three adult children, Eric, Maren and Kari. The activities which have brought Scot his greatest joy and fulfillment have been those involving his family.

Throughout his adult life, Scot has been active in his church and in various charitable and service organizations in addition to Rotary. He was chair of the Wilshire YMCA Board of Managers and on the Board of the Hollywood- Wilshire YMCA. He is on the Board of Directors of Book Ends, a non-profit organization which seeks to create libraries in schools, youth organizations and community centers. In 2000, he was honored as one of the Larchmont Chronicle's Men of Larchmont for his participation in community affairs.

Scot's favorite hobbies are sports, playing in several basketball leagues, including the Lawyer's Basketball League for almost twenty-five years. He also enjoys judo, kick-boxing, jogging, weight training, tennis and sailing.
