You may have noticed that the Rotary Club of Santa Monica has a very active group of past presidents.  The past presidents are an integral part of our committee structure.  They serve on  numerous committees in various capacities, including leadership roles or as active committee members.  As stipulated in our policies and procedures, an Advisory Board has been established which consists of all past presidents of the club who are still members of the club.  The current chairman of this committee is the immediate past president of the club.  Upon the request of the current president and board of the directors, this board can serve as an advisor to the current president and board of directors.  Of course, the current board of directors is responsible to establish the policies and procedures of our club.  As enumerated in the bylaws of the club, the current club president annually appoints the advisory board to act as the nominating committee for the club.  For a detail description of duties of the advisory board, please refer to both the bylaws and the policies & procedures of the club.
