"2004/2005"
ISSUE NO. 1 July 16, 2004 OUR 83rd YEAR
www.RotaryClubofSantaMonica.org
CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON THE 83RD YEAR!!
LIONEL RUHMAN HAMMERS THE NEW YEAR INTO ORDER, and the mighty men of manufacturing put him in a cage.
As Lionel prepared to call the first speaker of the new year, STEVE EORIO, to the podium, he jumped up, and began construction on a cage, into which Lionel was screwed the contractors union assisting.
If this type of behavior continues it could be a “bang up” year!!!
SMC’s 3rd Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life
Starting on Saturday, July 24 at 9 a.m. through Sunday, at 9 a.m.
Come take part in a very special 24-hour event to raise awareness and money in the fight against cancer. Whether you choose to join the planning committee, become a walker, or simply take a few minutes to drop by and cheer everyone along, you’ll be glad you made the effort! This is the second year our club participated in this event. We are now accepting team members to help in the fight against cancer. Our team is known as the "Rotary Rockets" and last year we helped the community raise over $80,000. Please contact Chairperson Judy Neveau for details!
