The Paul Harris Foundation Dinner

This year's Foundation Dinner was held at the new Crowne Plaza Hotel & Casino on November 1, 2003.  This brand new facility was beautiful.  The event was sold-out with over 670 in attendance.  This is the major fund raising project of our district, which is under the leadership of District Governor John Colville.  This support of The Rotary International Foundation results in the funding of the various international programs.

Marvin Levin is explaining a couple of the Programs which our dollars fund.  Once again Marvin: thank you for an outstanding job and congratulations on another successful year.
President Dee Menzies with husband & Rotarian Jim Menzies and their son Jamie: The First Family had a pleasurable evening.

P.S.  Jamie was bored.

Our hats are off to PP John McIntire. He was the spearhead and the focal point for acquiring thirteen silent auction items.

Kai-Li, Elza and President-Elect Lionel Ruhman were enjoying the evening.  Lionel was our Four Avenues of Service recipient for 2001/2002.

OH MY GOSH!

Pat and George Collins were in total disbelief when they won a one-week vacation in Maui, Hawaii.  Bill Aspinwall was also a big winner.  Bill won a seven-day cruise in the Mexican Riviera.

Our Ambassadorial Scholar Masahiko Tanaka with President Dee Menzies and PP Hal Quigley.  Hal is a Chairman of all the Incoming Ambassadorial Scholars for the District.

The Rotary Club of Santa Monica sponsored three tables under the leadership of President Dee Menzies.  Thirteen silent auction items were acquired due to the efforts of PP John McIntire.  Thanks to our Co-Chairmen Marv Levin & PP Hal Quigley and their committee over $10,500 in raffle tickets were sold by or to approximately 125 of our Rotarians.  A big thank you to Kai-Li Quigley for the numerous hours in support services.  Our work resulted (because of "Mother Luck") in our club winning two of the three grand prizes.
