When: August 14, 2004 at 1:00 PM
What: DOES THE FOUR-WAY TEST APPLY IN CORPORATE AMERICA?
What are business ethics? Does one-size fit all? Are there universal moral principles that transcend particular religions, cultures, societies? Is it possible to pursue moral virtue and business success simultaneously? Compared to past centuries is business practice more ethical today? In seeking material gain, do people behave ethically when they do not fear being penalized for errant actions? Is it ever ethical to make a pre-emptive strike against a business competitor?

| August 6th, 2004 - What if a child who grew
up in Los Angeles, who views athletes and movie stars as heroes, could get
to know a child in Tibet whose main goal in life is to develop the level of
compassion attained by the Tibetan Lamas… What if a child who grew up in New York City could question a Quechua child in Peru, who was raised to honor the spirits of the forests, mountains and lakes… This Friday, Michael Levin Executive Director of Building Bridges to Understanding will explain how international and multicultural exchanges such as these are made possible between our children and those of indigenous populations in some of the most remote locations around the world. Don't miss this lunch, you won't be disappointed! |
