Charles Murphy

Charles is a native of Detroit, Michigan and has been a California resident for 35 years now, presently living in San Marino.

He has Bachelors Degree in History from Western Michigan University, and a Masters Degree in Education from California State University, Los Angeles. He did post graduate work in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California. Currently he is enrolled in the American Institute of Philanthropic Studies at California State University, Long Beach. 

Recently retired after 33 years as a public school educator, Charles served as a teacher, reading specialist, educational consultant, assistant principal and principal. He worked in the Los Angles, San Gabriel and Montebello School Districts. Charles also served as a US Army Reserve Officer from 1965-1993. His duties as Senior Transportation Officer let him to many places such as Japan, Korea, Alabama, Delaware, Massachusetts, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington.

  Charles has been an aquarium volunteer long before we even opened. He worked at the Preview Center and conducted construction and architectural tours. He is now a member of the Speakers Bureau and of the New Volunteers Orientation and Training Team.
