Leonard "Len" Wasserstein

District Governor 2001‑2002
Len was born in Providence R.I., but has lived in California since the age of three. He was employed by Wells Fargo Bank for 42 years and is currently Senior Vice President for City National Bank at the head office for Business Development, Community and Customer Relations.
The Rotary Club of Beverly Hills has been Len's club for 11 years and he has served as Program Chairman, Foundation Chair, Membership, Classification and Club President. He has formed and raised funds for the Scout Club House, The Wheelchair Project, which donated 50 chairs to the Society for Crippled Children, Children's Hospital, Orthopedic Hospital, Watts Medical Center, The Motion Picture Home, Westside Center for Independent Living and the Veteran's Hospital. Len conceived and still chairs the Annual Athletic Awards Luncheon, which aids the School District's Athletic program. Len also developed the "Youth in Government Day" for eighth graders and still serves as chairman to this day.
Len is a member and past president of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and in 1989 was named Citizen of the Year. In 1997 he was selected as one of 12 Beverly Hills men of influence. Len is the Co president of Beverly Hi11s B'nai B'rith and President and Chairman of the Allocations Committee of the Beverly Hills Charitable Foundation.
In the District, Len was the Chair for District 5280 Charitable Foundation. He was the Governor's Executive Aide for Carol Wylie and assisted in all aspects of her administration, with specific responsibility for Area Representatives. Under District Governor Jack Jones, he was an Assistant Governor for Vocational Service. Len has two children and three grandchildren and has dedicated his year as Governor in loving memory of his wife Annebell. |
