On August 25th, Rotary held a Farewell Event honoring the Japanese and American students, and their host families, who participated in the Exchange Program in Summer, 2001. The Santa Monica Rotary Club acted as the principal host (along with the Redondo Beach Club) at the Malibu home of SM member Tom Loo and his wife, Stephanie Loo. The dinner event which included attendance of some 80 students, Rotarians and guests, was the opportunity to bid "farewell" to Japanese students who had spent the prior 4 weeks in various homes in Southern California.
