"2001/2002 - A Rotary Odyssey"

The Rotary Classic 2001

This year’s golf classic was held at the Tierra Rejada Golf Course in Moorpark Ca. We had 8 foursomes competing for bragging rites and prizes. The day turned out to be great for golf, it was between 75 and 80 degrees all day. The course was a beautiful target course layout. Golf was tough and a lot of balls were lost, but a lot of fun was had by all.

At the banquet dinner, Chair Bob Klein gave out awards for the prestigious John English award (lowest handicap golfer), The President’s Cup (lowest Callaway score), lowest team scores (one for handicap golfers and the other for Callaway.) A new perpetual trophy was given in honor of long time Rotarian and golfer, the late George Ishizuka.

Click on the thumbnail pictures below to see why Rotary events are the best place to be!

Paul Gaulke wins president's Cup! (Paul didn't I see you win trophies last year?)
Monte Herring calms down the crowd after nearly scoring a hole in one! (Dick Robbins shown in lower left of screen shows that he doesn't quite believe Monte's score)
Spyros Dellaportas, Lorraine Jossel, and President Hal Quigley prove that you don't have to golf to have a fun day.
Our own Podiatrist Ed Kim shown here with his partner. Ed told us that the course walking conditions were just right.
Gee Shin Lee and Jim Cayton told us the food was good too.
Steve Litvack  had more fun than any one else! Also, if you look closely at the full size picture you will see that Steve is trying to get free advertising for his business "One Stop Print Shop". I not going to tell, but if President Hal sees this, maybe he will determine that a small fine should be issued.
Larry Maher wins the First annual George Ishizuka Good Guy Trophy and Chairman Bob Klein wins the prestigious John English Award.
Nat Travis shown here after a long day of golf.
